we had such a blast saturday at our first annual spring outing event. a huge thank you to leslie grant of chickin feed for rounding up such an incredible group of people. the day was full of healthy fun. we had a great bean bag toss and duckie race compliments of chickin feed. children (and adults) planted beets and pak choy as well as some other seeds with the super knowledgeable bremen from farmer d organics. we had lots of great handouts and info from anissa with slow food atlanta and erin from georgia organics. they are both doing such great things! in case you’re curious you can find a CSA near you here.

kamal from truly living well and wheat street gardens was also on hand to talk about their mission to spread the urban gardening movement. ashley represented the APS parent’s farm to school coalition and was connecting people throughout the day to help kickstart food revolutions all over georgia schools. last but not least the lovely bianca from yummy spoonfuls was doling out delicious samples of their organic baby food.

it was truly amazing to see all of the families that came out to support this healthy living community and to see them walking away having learned something new. we can’t wait until next year.

thanks again to all of these incredible people for all of the good work they’re doing to keep families healthy!
